A man from Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia, caught the attention of Embraer, and the general public, after building a replica made of concrete, but full of details, of a Phenom 100 executive jet, a success in the Brazilian aeronautical industry, in your own backyard.
The initiative, according to Gerardo Benedito de Araujo, came to him after he saw the plane in a magazine and immediately fell in love with drawing. And that passion is sure to increase soon, as he was invited by Embraer to visit the factory where the planes are made.
The information was given by the manufacturer itself through a video released today on social networks.
“Gerardo Benedito de Araujo has never flown in an executive plane, but he has always been passionate about aviation. With creativity, he built a replica of the Phenom 100 just by looking at photos of the aircraft. Embraer recognizes Mr. Gerardo’s care and incredible work and for that reason our Services and Support team, in addition to checking out your work in Porto Velho, Rondônia, also invited you to visit our facilities in the State of São Paulo”, said the aeronautical company.
Mr Geraldo’s project
Unable to buy a legitimate one or even fly an executive jet, Araújo decided to make his own Phenom 100 at home, and the result drew a lot of attention. In addition to all the external details, such as engines in the right position and paintwork similar to the manufacturer’s, the interior also had the same layout as the original jet, with representations of the Garmin Prodigy Touch screens and the classic gull joystick.
Watch the video published by Embraer below. It is hoped that Araújo’s visit to the factory will also yield exciting images soon.
