After the layoffs of the pandemic, Latam advances in hiring employees.
The company says it ended May with 1,800 employees hired since the beginning of the year for different areas, including maintenance, cargo and operations.
The number is higher than that recorded in the same period in 2019, before the arrival of Covid, when 911 were admitted. In the same interval last year, there were 848.
Latam says it still does not have a forecast of how many hires should be made by the end of the year. It will depend on demand and the recovery of flights.
In 2020, pressured by the crisis in the airline sector, Latam laid off around 2,700 crew members, almost 40% of its staff at the time.
