In the wake of the rise in oil prices, Petrobras has made increases every month in 2022. Year-to-date, the rise in QAV exceeds 60%, increasing costs for airlines and consumers.

In Guarulhos (SP), the monthly increase was 11.2%, to R$ 5.626 per liter. In Duque de Caxias, the increase was 11.29%. In Betim (MG), the adjustment was 11.14%, according to Petrobras data.

Abear (Brazilian Association of Airlines) confirmed a readjustment of 11.4%, since the Petrobras website does not provide an average value in the country.

“These data prove the daily pressure that companies face with the rise of structural costs, especially the price of QAV, which has been impacted by the high price of a barrel of oil in the international market, because of the war in Ukraine,” he said in a statement. notes the president of Abear, Eduardo Sanovicz.

QAV represents more than a third of total airline costs.

“The appreciation of the dollar against the real is also a daily challenge, since half of the sector’s costs are dollarized”, added Sanovicz.

Since the beginning of the year, the price in Guarulhos has increased by 64.4%. Other aviation fuel delivery hubs also had increases of this magnitude.

The shares of the airlines Azul and GOL had sharp drops the day before, by 5.82% and 3.86%, respectively, the date on which Petrobras made the adjustment. This Thursday, the shares of the companies operated in high.
