Private sector workers should consult their extract from the Cnis (National Registry of Social Information), as failures in the registration of contributions can reduce the value of retirement and sickness benefit calculated by the INSS (National Institute of Social Security).
Audit of the TCU (Union Court of Auditors) points out that the government register has 80 million errors. It is in this document where all contributions made by the professional to the INSS and their employment relationships are recorded. Any wrong information can postpone and even make it impossible to grant the benefit.
For those who contributed as self-employed, if the taxpayer code informed is wrong, the contributions are not registered in the Cnis, and the amounts paid are outside the retirement calculation.
In the extract itself, the professional can check if there are pending issues to be resolved. The alert, in acronyms, is found in the “Indicadores” field, on the last sheet of the Cnis.
The acronym AEXT-VI, for example, indicates that it will be necessary to prove the activity carried out. The IGFIP-INF means that the INSS has an indication of the payment slip, but the period is not proven and, therefore, it will not count towards social security benefits.
The statement is available on Meu INSS, with the login gov.br. Account holders of Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil can request it at the ATM or from the manager.
The first information to check in the Cnis is in the field “Relations Social Security”, where the insured finds all the companies that paid their contributions to the INSS. It is essential to check one by one, compare with the work card records and payslips to identify if all the links are registered.
If you need to ask for correction of any record in the document, the worker must call 135. A task will be opened in Meu INSS, through which the insured will send the documents proving ties or contributions. Citizens can also request the Cadastral Update service and attach documents through Meu INSS.
If any employer has not made the mandatory payment, the worker must attach all documents at the time of the activity that prove that this bond existed. It is possible to present the FGTS analytical statement and vacation receipts, for example.
If any employment relationship is not included in the social security statement, it is necessary to check with the former employer and the INSS the reason for the failure.
If the company closed and the registration does not appear in the work card, it will be necessary to locate the liquidator of the bankrupt estate at the State Board of Trade.
If a bond has already been recognized after an action in the Labor Court, or a salary greater than that recorded in the Cnis has been recognized, it is necessary to expressly ask the INSS to consider these periods in the calculation.
The worker with more than one NIT (registration number) can have more than one Cnis and have social security ties in more than one register. The failure occurs because, in the past, more than one agency could carry out the identification registration. In this case, it is necessary to request the registration update to the INSS.
know more
- The Cnis (National Registry of Social Information) is the government’s database used to check whether or not a person can retire.
- All workers with a formal contract under the CLT regime and the self-employed who pay contributions to the INSS have the document
how to make the query
- Access My INSS (through the app or website)
- Log in with CPF and password or register (if it is the first access)
- On the home screen, in the “For You” option tab, click on “Contribution Statement (Cnis)”
- You can look at the data on the screen, or ask to “Download PDF”; if you choose to download, choose the full version (links and remuneration)
what to check
- For those who have a formal contract, the list of companies where they worked will appear
- For the self-employed, there will be a list of contributions made, with the values
- The query order is from the most recent salary to the oldest, by company
- See if all periods are correct, i.e. start and end dates
- Also check the value of salaries or contributions paid (for self-employed)
Pay attention to the “Indicators” column. Check below the most common, according to Ieprev (Institute of Pension Studies)
AEXT-VI – Settlement of extemporaneous bond rejected – Indicates that there was an attempt to settle the bond, but the documentation presented was not accepted by the INSS
IEAN25 – Indicator of Exposure to harmful agents in the 25 year old group – Indicates that that company is making an extra contribution because of a special activity
IGFIP-INF – GFIP indicator merely informative – Means that the contribution was made through a payment slip, but the period is not proven
ILEI123 – Contribution of competence was collected with the code of Complementary Law 123/2006. (Simplified Pension Plan) – Indicates the contribution of 11% of the value of the minimum wage (law 8212, art. 21.§ 2). If the insured has made contributions with this option and has changed his mind (wants to retire for the time of contribution, in a transition rule, for example) it is possible to complement the contributions (from 11% to 20%)
IMEI – Contribution of competence was collected with MEI code. (Individual Microentrepreneur)
IREC-CIRURAL – Collection with Rural CI code without approval – Indicates that it will be necessary to prove rural activity for the period to be computed in social security benefits
IREC-INDPEND – Collections with indicators and/or pending issues – It is a generic indicator signaling the existence of pending contributions. The insured needs to look for the INSS to verify exactly what is pending
PEMP-CAD – Lack of registration information from the CNPJ or CEI (specific registration of the INSS) – Indicates that the company information is not updated in the INSS
PEXT – Pending untreated extemporaneous bond – Indicates that the bond will not be included in the benefit calculation. Appears when the employer stopped paying the INSS or when there was a change in the company’s CNPJ
PREC-CSE – GPS Collection of Special Insured Pending Proof – Indicates the pending period attributed to the contribution periods of the special insured without due proof
PREC-FBR – Optional low-income payment validated/homologatedO – Indicates the pending period attributed to the contribution period as optional low-income, but without validation of the low-income situation or in conjunction with contributions from other categories
PREC-MINOR-MIN – Collection carried out is lower than the minimum value – Indicates that the INSS payment was lower than the minimum wage. In this case, it will be necessary to complement the payment for it to be valid and compose the calculation of contribution time
PREM-EXT – Remuneration of competence is extemporaneous – Indicates that the remuneration of the individual taxpayer providing the service is extemporaneous. This means that the INSS was probably paid in arrears and it will be necessary to prove the effective performance of the activities to prove this period
REM-FVIN – Remuneration after the end of the employment relationship – Indicates remuneration after the end of the employment relationship. This period will not be counted towards the contribution time. If you have continued to work at the company, it is necessary to prove the continuity of the relationship to validate these contributions
PVIN – IRREG – Irregular Bond Pending – Indicates irregular links that will not be considered in the granting of the benefit. Probably only the work card will not be enough to validate this period
How to correct the information
- The insured needs to call 135 and request the correction
- A task will be opened by the social security server for the worker to correct the information through Meu INSS
- If the task is not created, it is possible to enter the retirement request, even if the benefit requirements have not been met, and during the process ask for the correction of the data.
- According to social security lawyers, the law guarantees the correction of the Cnis at any time as a right of the insured
Which documents to send
- Work card – It is necessary to include the start and end dates of the contract and the salaries
- Personal documents – in case there are problems with registration data
- Copy of labor process – if there is
- Social Security Guide – when the individual contribution was not recognized
- Other documents that prove the link such as a term of contract and contractual termination, employee registration form, proof of Rais (Annual Social Information List) and any other material that may serve for the INSS to recognize the period worked
- Receipts of period in rural work, minor apprentice and military enlistment
