Gasoline price drops for the third week at gas stations, says ANP

by

The price of gasoline fell for the third week in a row at the pumps, following the drop in the price of hydrated ethanol, which represents 27% of the mixture sold at gas stations. Even so, the average price remains above R$ 7 per liter in 23 states and the Federal District.

According to the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels), this week gasoline was sold by Brazilian stations at an average price of R$ 7,218 per litre, a decrease of 0.4% compared to the previous week.

In the last three weeks, the product accumulates fall of 1.1%, or R$ 0.08 per liter. At the plants in São Paulo, anhydrous ethanol dropped 1.04% last week. In one month, the accumulated decline is 5.6%.

The price of hydrated ethanol also continues to fall at gas stations, reaching R$ 5,083 per liter this week. The value is 2% lower than that recorded by the ANP last week. In one month, the average price of fuel fell by 4.5%.

At the São Paulo mills, the price of hydrated ethanol had dropped 2.94% last week, according to the Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics), from Esalq/USP.

The last fuel to be adjusted at Petrobras refineries, diesel also maintained a downward trend. According to the ANP, the average price of fuel was R$6,882 per liter this week, down 0.5% from the previous week. The value is 0.9% lower than the record reached two weeks ago.

The 8.87% readjustment announced in early May led to the resignations of former Mines and Energy Minister Bento Albuquerque, who was replaced by Adolfo Sachsida, and Petrobras president José Mauro Coelho, who should be replaced by Caio Paes. from Andrade.

The change in command of the state-owned company, however, is still undefined. The company’s board of directors has decided that it will only call a shareholders’ meeting after evaluating all the nominees for the collegiate, but the government has not yet presented the names.

The delay leads minority representatives to believe that the government is looking for an alternative solution to speed up the appointment, which would involve the resignation of one of the current members of the board to be replaced by Paes de Andrade, eliminating the need for an assembly.

According to the ANP survey, the price of cooking gas was practically stable this week, at R$ 112.52 per 13-kilogram cylinder. The same scenario was verified in the price of CNG (vehicle natural gas), which was sold, on average, at R$ 5.235 per cubic meter.
