IBGE opens 48,535 vacancies for census takers; see how to participate

The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) opened this Thursday (9) a simplified selection process to hire census takers for the 2022 Census. In all, there are 48,535 temporary vacancies distributed in all Brazilian states and the Federal District.

Entries can be made until next Wednesday (15), without charging a fee. Interested parties must access the IBGE portal, and register through the virtual form.

According to the institute, the selection will be made through curriculum analysis. According to the notice, the recommendation is that the census taker have a minimum working day of 25 hours per week. The professional will also undergo mandatory training before the start of the Census collection. The release of the final result is scheduled for June 30th.

The census taker’s main function is to interview the residents during the collection. As the remuneration is based on production, it can vary according to the time dedicated to the work and the degree of difficulty in approaching the households. It is possible to calculate an estimate in this simulator. The expected duration of the contract is up to three months.

VACANCIES BY STATE

São Paulo is the state with the highest number of vacancies: there are 18,589 in 635 municipalities. Most of them (5,426) are concentrated in the capital of São Paulo. In Rio Grande do Sul, 5,185 vacancies are offered, which are distributed across 492 municipalities. In Minas Gerais, which is the third state with the highest supply, there are 4,633 opportunities.

Altogether, the IBGE should hire 206,891 temporary workers to work on the Census. Of these vacancies, 183,021 are for census takers, who will undergo training between the 18th and 22nd of July. More than 130 thousand vacancies for this function were filled in the selection carried out in April.

COMPLEMENTARY PROCESS

“The complementary process aims to hire staff for vacancies that were not filled in the simplified selection process. The difference between the two selections is that in the complementary PSS there is a curriculum analysis instead of a test and there is no registration fee”, he says. the Human Resources coordinator, Bruno Malheiros.

The hiring will be carried out under the terms of Law 8,745, which allows the admission of personnel for a determined period to meet the temporary need of exceptional public interest.

LIST OF APPROVED IN CONTEST

On May 20, IBGE released the list of successful candidates for the 2022 Demographic Census. Candidates for the vacancies of census taker and census agent can consult the results on the website of FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas), which organizes the selection.

This year, more than 621 thousand people applied for the 206,891 temporary vacancies in the Census, being 23,870 for census agents and 183,021 for census takers. The vacancies are distributed in 5,297 municipalities in the country.
