At women the unemployment rate rose to 16.2% (from 21.8% in April 2021) and in men to 9.5% (from 13.4%).

In large age groups, in the 15-24 age group the percentage was 30.6% (from 47.8% in April 2021) and in the 25-74 age group to 11.6% (from 15.7%).

According to the labor force survey of ELSTAT, the employees amounted to 4,123,634 people, recording an increase of 403,552 people compared to April 2021 (10.8%) and a decrease of 41,072 people compared to March 2022 (1% ).

The number of people under 75 who are not in the workforce, or “people outside the workforce” (people who are not working or looking for work), amounted to 3,125,509 people, a decrease of 256,988 people compared to April 2021 (7.6%) and an increase of 51,662 people compared to March 2022 (1.7%).
