In a new measure of financial support to energy bills where will cover the largest cost of the adjustment clausethe Minister of State reported today Akis Skertsos during a press conference in Kastoria. Mr. Skertsos stated that “in July a new scheme will come that covers 85% of the increases of the energy crisis for each household and about 60% of the increases for each business”.

He stressed that “with this mechanism we deactivate the adjustment clause and we compensate the producers for the real and not the stock market cost as was the case in the past “. He pointed out that the plan “has been approved by the European Commission”, stressing that “we can not cover all the costs, which are very high, as there is no budgetary possibility since no country in Europe has done it.”

Mr. Skertsos stated that “Greece is the country that has made the largest package of energy support” and stressed that next week the government will announce the grant enhancement through the Fuel Passas well as the extension of the program.

Referring to issues of Regional and local Economy, he stressed that from the recording of major projects and actions by various financial instruments, such as NSRF, Recovery Fund, A. Tritsis program, “over 265 million € have come or will come to the region immediately and this is important for the economy in general “.

In the aftermath of his visit to the premises of the University of Western Macedonia in Kastoria, he stated that for the government “the university is a strategic partner in the planning we do, in order to better connect the local economy with its departments and schools”. He underlined that “there is a dialogue and continuous cooperation with the Rector of the institution on all issues that run with the Fair Transition Fund”.

Finally, Mr. Skertsos addressed an invitation to an open dialogue to the citizens and the society of the region, with the aim “to make a new development plan that will give hope not only to keep people in the region, but also to attract others”.

The tour of the government level ended late in the afternoon with a speech by Akis Skertsos and Zeta Makri at a gathering of members of the constituency of New Democracy Kastoria.
