Panel SA: Recruitment company increases hiring of trans people with change in vacancy registration

by

About a year after including data on diversity in the registrations for job openings, the recruitment platform 99jobs says that it registered a rise of more than 50% in the number of trans people who applied.

The scenario also changed in the number of trans employees, which went from 63 people to 84.

The new fields, introduced in 2020, cover social name identification, sexual orientation, gender identity and pronoun.

According to the company, without the new information, the algorithm created a biased pattern, which benefited more privileged people.
