Amid the skyrocketing diesel prices that impact railway operations in the country, ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) determined an 11.73% readjustment in the tariff table of Rumo’s central network.
The company says that the increase is ordinary and only updates the table, changing the ceiling that can be practiced. According to Rumo, the review does not mean an automatic transfer to users.
Meanwhile, the sector as a whole has been petitioning the regulatory body for an extraordinary freight adjustment through the ANTF, an association that brings together rail transporters.
The entity prepared a study to detail the effects of the mega-increase on both the operation and the construction of new railways.
