The retail balance in May showed a new increase in the flow of consumers in physical stores, which grew 30% compared to the same month in 2021, according to the indicator of the SBVC (Sociedade Brasileira de Varejo e Consumo) with HiPartners.
In malls, the movement progress was similar, but sales did not follow proportionately.
According to the indicator, the numbers are still below the pre-pandemic, however, the distance has been reduced.
The impulse registered in the month was driven by Mother’s Day, when the increase in visitor flow reached 37% for mall stores compared to the weekly average of the other Sundays of the month.
