Even before officially starting, the Black Friday of 2021 has already registered a volume of complaints from consumers 40% above last year’s edition, according to a survey by Reclame Aqui, which compared, in the two years, the period between midday and Wednesday Thursday and 5:00 pm on Thursday, before the event. During this year’s interval, 4.4 thousand complaints were registered.
The main reason is the delay in delivery, which rose more than 160% when compared to the same period in 2019.
According to Reclame Aqui, the history of Black Friday in Brazil had a different profile, which began to change last year. Previously, complaints about late delivery only began to swell after the promotion ended, in the following days and even weeks, when consumers reported that they had not received the products within the promised deadline.
At this time of the day before, the complaints revolved more around misleading advertising, problems with payment or lack of product. As retailers began to promise increasingly shorter delivery times, claims for delays were brought forward, according to Reclame Aqui.
Inflation may also have contributed to the change: as consumers are taking advantage of current discounts to buy even food and hygiene products, items that traditionally have shorter delivery times, any service failures surface sooner.
