Game over today for those who wish to receive it electricity subsidy up to €600 (Power Pass) to ease the … pain caused by the readjustment clause, as the platform closes at the end of the day.

Although there were thoughts of giving a small extension of a few days, until the end of the week, to make it easier for those who file their tax return this year for the first time, and the submission of the return is a condition for the Power Pass, in the end, according to officials of the Ministry of Finance, the deadline does not change.

As the sand in the hourglass is saved, those interested should know that:

  • In the case of students, the parent makes the declaration if he has declared the student as a protected member. However, if the lease is in the name of the student, then he must submit the application.
  • As long as it has been declared in E1, a beneficiary is also someone who has been granted a property. The beneficiary is also the one who lives in a rented house (which he has declared as his main residence) and the bill comes in the owner’s name. On the contrary, someone who is declared as a guest cannot apply.
  • In cases where a property is 50% owned by, say, a couple, it does not matter who makes the application.
  • Where there is a shared clock, the money will be credited to the one whose VAT number is shown on the electricity bill. If this is not the case, the money will be shared among those who use the common clock.

If the electricity bill is in the name of a deceased person, then his heirs apply. However, for those who died between December 2021 and May 2022, an application cannot be submitted as it “Locks” the beneficiary’s VAT number in Taxisnet, and the heirs cannot get it unless they have declared the house where the deceased lived as their main residence.

The subsidy applies only to floating tariffs, only household services for the main residence and electricity bills issued from 1/12/2021 to 31/5/2022.

The funds will be credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts shortly after mid-July.
