Vehicle distributors in Brazil reduced, this Tuesday (5), sales projections for new vehicles in 2022, citing the current scenario of problems in the supply of automakers, which have been impacted by the global crisis of lack of electronic components and other auto parts. .
The forecast for growth of 4.6% in license plates for cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in 2022 was reset by the entity that represents the sector, Fenabrave.
As a result, the sector’s expectation became the licensing of 2.120 million vehicles this year.
In June, registrations in Brazil fell 4.8% compared to May, to 178 thousand units, according to data from Fenabrave.
In comparison with June 2021, sales fell by 2.4%, accumulating in the first half, a retraction of 14.5%, to 917.94 thousand units, the entity said.
Considering only the truck segment, the only one to show growth in June compared to May, last month’s sales showed an evolution of 5.3% in the monthly comparison.
The segment of cars and light commercials suffered a low of 10.16%, according to data from Fenabrave.
“If we maintain the same daily average from June until the end of this year, we will have an annual performance very close to the result obtained last year, in a moderate estimate, since the second semester is usually better than the first”, said in a statement the president of Fenabrave, José MaurÃcio Andreta Júnior.
According to the entity, in June, sales of automobiles and light commercial vehicles per business day were 8,270, up from 5,550 units in January, which indicates a “gradual” recovery in the market.
