Globo launched this Thursday (14) its sustainability guidelines package.
Called the ESG Journey (an acronym for Environmental, Social and Governance Practices), the initiative covers the disclosure of the company’s first sustainability report in accordance with GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards on the actions of TV, cable channels, Globoplay and the company’s digital products.
Also on Thursday, Paulo Marinho, CEO of Globo, and Manuel Belmar, director of finance, announced the company’s adhesion to the UN Global Compact Brazil.
The work is divided into six commitments aligned with the UN’s sustainable development goals that form Globo’s ESG 2030 Agenda, according to Belmar.
In addition to topics such as governance and support for education, the company highlights its commitment to producing content that contributes to social and environmental development, promoting diversity and inclusion in content and teams.
“This work started in 2021 and speaks a lot, in addition to Globo’s history, with our values and mission. That’s when we talk about offering quality content and experiences that contribute to Brazilian education and society”, says Marinho.
