by

The company Acciona Energía signed an agreement with Casa dos Ventos for the acquisition of two wind projects under development (Sento Sé I and II) in Bahia, which represents the Spanish company’s entry into the Brazilian renewable generation market.

The parks, which together can reach up to 850 MW of power, are in the process of obtaining the necessary authorizations for their execution, which are planned for next year.

With such authorizations, Acciona will be able to approve the investment and start construction, the note said. The complete execution of both parks would mean an investment of around 800 million euros (BRL 5 billion).

The company said that it is also analyzing other wind and photovoltaic projects to consolidate its presence in the country with the aim of being an active agent in the long-term energy transition and contributing to the decarbonization of the economy and business activity.

Acciona Energía has set the goal of doubling its size and reaching 20 GW of installed capacity by 2025, based on a portfolio of 9.8 GW of projects in advanced development, to which the 850 MW of the Sento Sé I and wind farms will now be added II.

The Acciona group has been present in Brazil for over 20 years with the delivery of important infrastructure projects such as Terminal 2 at Porto do Açu, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and the Sanitary Sewage System at Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, in Pernambuco .

She is currently responsible for the construction of Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo subway system.
