PPC announced today its participation in the joint venture that will develop the optical fiber data transmission cable that will connect Europe to Asia.

The agreement for the installation of the cable was signed yesterday in the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis by MENA HUB, which belongs to STC of Saudi Arabia, the Greek telecommunications and satellite company of TTSA applications, PPC and CYTA which is the telecommunications provider of Cyprus.

As announced by PPC, the project will ensure a huge increase in data connectivity from Europe to Asia via Saudi Arabia while turning Greece into an Eastern Data Gateway of the European Union and Saudi Arabia into a Regional Digital Hub between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

The EMC Project enables the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Greece and Cyprus to leverage their geographic location, creating a much-needed new data corridor for the global economy, placing the countries at the epicenter of data transfer, storage and creation in Eurasia , by creating an infrastructure of digital connectivity between countries, which is the cornerstone of the digital transformation era“, emphasizes PPC.

PPC participates in the joint venture for the construction of the optical fiber cable

MENA Hub, the international connectivity and data center arm of Saudi Arabia’s STC, will build the cable infrastructure in collaboration with Greek telecommunications and satellite applications company TTSA.
