Jair Bolsonaro is where he has always been. On Tuesday, he joined the PL. In the audience were also the PP (“Progressistas”) and the PR (“Republicans”), there in the gargle line, wiping a dirty cloth and clapping their hands for the infamous dance. Bolsonaro went to look for his gang, the champions of the monthly allowance, petrolão and, now, of “bolsonaro”, the pure cream of the corn from the centrão.
These same days, Congress is trying to break a Supreme Court ruling on parliamentary amendments. They are the ones who pay the rent for the center and help prevent Bolsonaro’s impeachment. These are the rapporteur’s amendments (in practice, the center’s summit distributes money from the Budget for works in the region of friends).
It will not be known who took the amendments paid for last year and it will be possible to find a way to stifle next year’s. Like the fat expenses of Bolsonaro’s corporate card, the expenses for acquiring congressional support will also be secret. It’s the big pocket. We just haven’t really seen what’s inside that pocket yet.
All those people who had hysterical get-togethers, lacerdistas, janista and colloristas against corruption are quiet, those people who voted or voted for Bolsonaro. Congress tries to sneak out, tries to hush up the case.
Part of these people with a Lacerdista, Janista, Collorista and Poconarista spirit, if not just a moneymaker, are where they have always been, although some try to hide it. Big money owners and the military in particular are trying to promote Sergio Moro’s candidacy so that Jair Bolsonaro’s former justice minister scores enough points in the polls to discourage other “third way” candidates.
They left the hotel on the far right towards the inn on the far right, which is the Pocketnarismo without Bolsonaro. They left without paying the bill, which they left for the country that made a mess of Covid, is hungry and for a long time will have to deal with a public administration in ruins in many parts (education, science, technology, health, environment, culture, etc.) .
It’s days of omicron, the new variant of the coronavirus. It is not known how dangerous the animal is, but the government, of course, does not even try to give the impression of urgency, that it is discussing or taking steps to contain the risk of a possible new misfortune. As with everything else, apart from the efforts of the professional bureaucracy, there is no government. The days of the omicron are days of celebration of the centrão, the foundation of national-monthlyism, the teratological marriage of Bolsonaro with the men of the monthly fee, and the new populist trick of the elite.
Pocketnarism without Bolsonaro, wealthy people, militias and other fellow travelers is largely antipetism. More importantly, it fits into the anti-political tradition, which has always been authoritarian, even more so in its incarnation. They were all there quietly in government while Bolsonaro preached a coup or defended torture and military dictatorship, among other horrors.
In their other incarnations, Janismo, Collorismo, Pocketnarismo, they never had anything to say to the little people, apart from sanctimonious and moralistic demagogues. Yes, moralists, because in one way or another they have always benefited from this little Brazilian arrangement, which is a market economy of favors regulated by a captured State, in an environment of general economic and social incivility. Even worse, from their own point of view, they never even managed to come up with an economic project that made sense.
As it stands, Pocketnarism without Bolsonaro, Morism, is just another version of this trick. In the 2018 election, it resulted in slaughter, ruin and pockets.
