Panel SA: Einstein debuts on Globoplay with a series on pandemic

The documentary series “Portraits of a Pandemic: On the Front Line of Combating Covid-19”, which premiered this Thursday (4) on Globoplay and arrives at a time when the spread of monkeypox in Brazil is being discussed, should serve as a lesson, according to Sidney Klajner, president of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

The five episodes were filmed in more than two years of the pandemic, in 70 days of recording that followed the front lines of public and private hospitals managed by Einstein.

Although the coronavirus has different characteristics and spread from the new disease, Klajner says that the five episodes of the documentary leave a record for the current and future generations on the paths pointed out by the Covid experience.

The doctor points out that there is a big difference in the proportion of smallpox in monkeys, but he sees certain similarities.

“We see it happening in other countries, then one case arrives, another arrives. Organizations that are able to provide the appropriate test, the fastest diagnosis, are already starting to prepare for this. We learned a lot from Covid”, says Klajner .

TVs in Brazilian homes

A survey by Globoplay shows that the way of consuming streaming is changing among Brazilians and the main responsible for this are connected TVs – the so-called Smart TV. The consumption of Globo’s online service on these televisions grew by 22% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year.

The research points out that the improvement in network infrastructure and increase in connectivity in Brazil boosted the increase in streaming services.

Kantar/Ibope data in the survey “The Future Viewing Experience” indicate that, in the last four years, the presence of smart TVs has more than doubled in homes, reaching 57% of homes by 2021.
