Truck helper André Ribeiro de Souza, 43, is one of the INSS (National Institute of Social Law) policyholders who had been waiting since 2013 for the review of aid 29, also known as aid review.
The review refers to an error made by the INSS in the payment of disability benefits, between 2002 and 2009, when it failed to discard the lowest 20% of contributions for calculating the average salary of workers. By court agreement, it was determined that the settlement of accounts would be done in batches, starting in 2013 and ending in 2022.
The last batch was scheduled to take place between the 1st and 7th of May, for policyholders who, in 2012, were up to 45 years old in April, no longer received the benefit calculated with error and were entitled to arrears from R $6,000.01.
This is the case with Souza. Unemployed and depending on government aid since 2019, he contacted the INSS in April, which confirmed the date of receipt for early May. But in July, he still hadn’t received it.
“My only income since November 14, 2019 has been emergency aid, and what I will currently have is accident aid, as of June, the result of a lawsuit in court. I live on rent and I’m in debt, with bills to pay”, reported Souza.
The truck helper contacted the Sheet after the story of analyst Thadeu dos Santos Lista, who shared the same difficulty. After ten years of waiting, Lista also did not receive the amount on the scheduled date.
The report contacted the INSS on July 14. On July 29, the institute informed that the amount owed to the insured, referring to the revision of article 29, had been released.
“To know the details of the payment, the insured can access his request through the INSS’s remote channels (site gov.br/meuinss, Meu INSS mobile application or telephone 135)”, added the Institute.
“I can’t believe it,” said Souza when he learned of the payment. “It worked, thank God.”
I didn’t receive payment from the INSS, now what?
People who are entitled to the review of article 29 and have not yet received it can look for the Institute through Central 135, which is open from Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to 10 pm, and also through the website or application Meu INSS. In this case, you need a login and password.
Requests for other payments that have not been made or are no longer available can also be made online, using the following steps:
- Access the My INSS app or website
- Choose “Sign in with gov.br”
- Enter your CPF and click “Continue”
- Enter the password and click on “Login”
- In the bar where there is a magnifying glass, write “Request Payment of Benefit Not Received”
- Inform all requested data, send documents, if necessary, and note the protocol number
