President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said this Wednesday (17) that he will extend federal tax relief to cooking gas.

Bolsonaro also said that he “asked” to zero out aviation kerosene, but that the economic team will evaluate.

“Today I had a conversation with part of Paulo Guedes’ economic team about PLOA [Projeto de Lei Orçamentária Anual], our Budget, for the coming year. We guarantee to continue with zero federal taxes on gasoline, diesel and cooking gas”, he said. “I asked the staff to zero jet kerosene now”, he added.

Then, to journalists, he clarified that the case is still under study. “You can see the impact, right? Because it’s really up there and that harms tourism and really the movement of passengers in Brazil.”

The statements were given to an audience of mayors at a campaign event in Brasília.

as showed the Sheet, the government will send the 2023 Budget proposal providing for the maintenance of the exemption of federal taxes on fuel, at a cost of approximately R$ 50 billion, according to government sources. Government technicians said that the measure reached gasoline and diesel.

There will be no reserve of resources in the budget to guarantee the continuity of the additional R$ 200 for Auxílio Brasil.

The maintenance of the minimum benefit of R$ 600 has been signaled both by Bolsonaro and by former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who leads polls of voting intentions.

To the mayors, this Wednesday, Bolsonaro also promised again that the Auxílio Brasil of R$ 600 will become permanent. According to him, this would happen through a PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) after the elections.

“The aid is agreed. It will be enshrined after the elections with a proposal to amend the Constitution, which I am sure Parliament will support again,” he told reporters.
