The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP), said this Thursday (18), when commenting on his position in favor of privatization of Petrobras, that president and reelection candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has no intention of acting in that direction. , indicating that the topic should be left aside, at least for now.
“Petrobras would have to have, to be a public company, a more present social action, it no longer has, it would have to have investments in Brazil, it no longer has”, said the president of the Chamber, who is an ally of Bolsonaro, in a speech during BTG Pactual event. “We have to adjust these situations.”
When reaffirming his personal defense of the privatization of the state-owned company, Lira pointed out, however, that “not even the president wants to touch on this issue”.
Lira also took the opportunity to defend the untying and de-indexing of the Budget in order to allow greater flexibility, without the need to change the spending ceiling.
When questioned, Lira also denied that the readjustment of servers – Bolsonaro’s recent promise if he is reelected – is a “bomb agenda”, as projects with fiscal impact are called, and pondered that it is an “accumulated” issue.
The deputy affirmed that there is fiscal space to meet the pressure of the civil service, as well as the proposal to readjust the ministers and servants of the Judiciary, but added that the issue will have to be debated a lot in Parliament.
