The number of positive tests for Covid-19 carried out in pharmacies was, for the first time, below 10,000 per week in November, according to Abrafarma (Brazilian Association of Pharmacy and Drugstore Chains).
Between the 15th and 21st, 8,564 positive tests were registered, equivalent to 7.8% of the nearly 109,000 tests carried out by pharmacies in the period. In the previous week, there were just over 10,000 diagnoses of the disease, 8.7% of all rapid tests performed.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, pharmacies have carried out nearly 12 million tests, including tests for antigens and antibodies and the PCR type. Abrafarma predicts that the number of positive results will continue to fall with the advance of the vaccination campaign against the disease.
