The electoral race takes place while Brazil faces difficulties in the economy, but sees improvements in some indicators. In this scenario, the main candidates for the presidency presented their economic plans – covering topics such as labor laws, public spending and privatization.

Some experts worry about the bill that will be left by the social benefits package created to help Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to be reelected. There is also the question of what will happen to the poorest people after December, when the boosted Auxílio Brasil is scheduled to end.

THE Sheet looked at the government plans of the leading candidates in the polls. At Café da Manhã this Monday (22), the editor of Mercado, Ana Estela de Sousa Pinto, talks about the issues that Brazil will face in the economy, what the politicians’ proposals say and what Brazilians expect for the future of the country, according to surveys.
