Electricity prices from record to record – At 697.25 euros the average price per megawatt hour

Under 15 cents per kilowatt hour for the consumer, after government subsidies

Its prices set a new high record electric power ahead of tomorrow as the average price forms at 697.25 euros per megawatt hour with the high reaching 871 euros.

It is recalled that its prices Stock Exchange they are not passed on to consumers as since July a ceiling has been imposed on the prices per megawatt hour charged by power producers, depending on the technology. Consumer prices for September were announced last week and combined with the government subsidy the price per kilowatt hour is reduced to below 15 cents for most suppliers and there are cases of single digit or even zero charges.

Electricity demand tomorrow, Monday, is expected to reach 319 gigawatt hours and is mainly covered by natural gas (45.9 %), renewables (19.8 %), lignite (16.3 %) and hydro (8.4 %) plants. The increase in prices is a result of the jump in the price of natural gas on the Dutch Stock Exchange above 300 euros per megawatt hour.
