The federal government should maintain, in September, the temporary payment of the minimum installment of R$ 600 of Auxílio Brasil for all families benefiting from the program, which replaces Bolsa Família. The amount –which represents an addition of R$200 to the usual installment of R$400– continues until December.
Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) main bet to try to climb the polls, the president promised, in this Thursday’s electoral program (8), a new extra payment of R$ 200. The amount would be added to the current floor of R$ 600, and would reach R$ 800 per family. But so far, this payment has not been made official.
What is the exact amount of Auxílio Brasil?
The more than 20 million families registered in the CadÚnico (Single Registry) that will receive the benefit in the month of September must earn R$ 600, according to amounts approved by law and which are already included in the Budget.
However, the original value of Auxílio Brasil is R$ 400 per family. There are additional benefits that can increase your income. In July, for example, when the R$ 600 was not yet being paid, the beneficiaries received, on average, R$ 408.80, according to the Ministry of Citizenship.
According to the Bolsonaro government’s planning, the R$600 installment will only go until December, after an electoral maneuver carried out by Planalto and Congress to circumvent the legislation and approve the extra R$200 by the end of the year. In the 2023 Budget, there was only the correction for inflation and the benefit should be R$ 405 per family.
Aid Gas raises value every two months
The 5.6 million families that receive the Auxílio Gás get a higher amount every two months, but the payment is also temporary, only until December, since the gas voucher paid for the purchase of the cylinder had its value doubled in electoral maneuver. As of January, the benefit returns to normal.
As the beneficiaries already received the Auxílio Gás in August, in the month of September there is no extra payment. Therefore, until the government announces otherwise, this month, R$ 600 will be paid.
In August, the families received BRL 710, when adding BRL 600 in aid and BRL 110 in a gas voucher.
Payment schedule can be anticipated
The Ministry of Citizenship is studying to bring forward the payment schedule in the month of September, as it did in August. The measure has not yet been approved.
With this, benefit deposits follow the usual payment schedule between the 19th and 30th. The order of deposits will not change.
The money is released according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). First, they receive citizens with a final NIS 1 and so on, until reaching those with a final card of zero.
In August, payments were scheduled to start on the 18th, but were brought forward to the 9th and ended on the 22nd.

New add-on is limited
According to the advertisement broadcast on TV, the president’s campaign says that the new amount would be passed on to beneficiaries who “start working”, suggesting that it is about the Productive Inclusion Aid, existing in the benefits structure of the social program, but which was never implemented.
The benefit was created with the idea of rewarding program beneficiaries, people in poverty or extreme poverty, who get a job with a formal contract.
But on the platform of the Ministry of Citizenship, there is no information about those covered by the Urban Productive Inclusion Aid.
