The number of consumers in the free energy market (those who consume without the intermediary of distributors) rose from 9,900 in December 2021 to more than 10,500.
According to the new CCEE (Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber) survey, the biggest advance took place in the category that covers companies with a load above 1 megawatt. The volume of consumers in the segment rose 15%, according to the entity.
The rest, with contracted demand between 500 kilowatts and 1 megawatt, grew 5.5% in 2022.
Also according to the CCEE, in the first eight months of this year, the free energy market gained almost 30 new energy trading companies.
