Folha wins the José Hamilton Ribeiro journalism award

A sheet won the José Hamilton Ribeiro Journalism Abag/RP Award, promoted by the Brazilian Agribusiness Association of the Ribeirão Preto region, in the Printed Newspaper category.

The award was given for the article “Urban agriculture is viable and should be valued, according to a study”, by Bruno Blecher, which deals with production in and around cities.

The report was produced as part of the seminar “Challenges of Urban Agriculture in SP”, by sheet.

The Abag/RP award is in its 14th edition. It was created to encourage and recognize the journalistic work dedicated to the dissemination of issues related to agribusiness and introduce the sector to future journalists, as it is also open to students, in the Young Talent category.

Journalist José Hamilton Ribeiro, who names the award, spent almost all of his 41 years on TV Globo dedicated to Globo Rural. The journalist left TV in November.

Zé Hamilton, as he is known, covered the Vietnam War for Realidade magazine in 1968. He also worked for Quatro Rodas magazine and for sheet, before arriving at Globo, where he was mainly at Globo Rural, but also in reports for Globo Repórter and Fantástico.
