The National Nursing Forum, which brings together entities of the category such as the FNE (National Federation of Nurses), began to organize a national strike for the next week. The act should take place on Wednesday (21) lasting 24 hours.
There is already another stoppage scheduled for this Wednesday (14) in Rio de Janeiro.
The mobilizations take place after the injunction of the minister Luis Roberto Barroso that suspended the floor of the category. Until Friday (16), the STF will decide whether or not to maintain the decision. So far, the score is five votes to three in favor of suspension.
Solange Caetano, FNE representative at the forum and secretary general of SEESP (São Paulo State Nurses Union), says that membership in the state is still uncertain. According to her, the union will convene the assembly to decide.
“We have many workers who earn above the minimum wage, especially in the capital. But, in the countryside, there are several cities that are asking us to guide how the strike will be”, says Caetano.
Also according to Caetano, even if the strike does not take force throughout the state, the union plans to hold a large demonstration on Avenida Paulista, also on the 21st.
