Nurses from Rio de Janeiro called for a new strike, lasting 24 hours, for next Monday (26).
According to Libya Bellusci, director of SindEnfRJ (Nurses’ Union of Rio de Janeiro), the movement is a way to pressure Congress and the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, for the approval of funding sources that guarantee the new floor of the category, suspended by the STF until information on the economic impact of the measure is presented.
According to Bellusci, the mobilization will take place in front of Hospital Pasteur, in Méier, a neighborhood in the north of the city.
This month, nursing staff in Rio had already made a stoppage on the 14th.
