Basic goods such as bread, cheese, milk, oil, diapers, baby food, cleaning products and personal care items in the 31 product categories that will see zero or very small increases.
Supermarkets are gradually being informed of the list proposed by the Ministry of Development and Investments, with the 31 categories of products from which the 50 products that will be included in the “Housewife’s Basket” will come.
In a recent meeting held by the leadership of the Ministry of Development and Investments with representatives of supermarkets, department stores and chain stores, it was agreed that the supermarket household basket will include zero or very small increases in the prices of 50 products.
For the 50 products, their prices will be posted daily in the supermarkets and there will be special markings, while the consumer will also be able to be informed by the e-consumer application, in which everyone can see the prices every day.
The measure will concern stores that are chains and have a turnover of more than 70 million euros. So far there are more than 15 chains that have thousands of stores according to the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Nikos Papathanasis.
