“The project is ahead of schedule, all the properties of the first phase have been sold and there are no pending issues,” said A. Georgiadis.
On Monday is the official opening in Elliniko, the Skaramangas Shipyards are estimated to be transferred to Giorgos Prokopiou by the end of the year and the Elefsina Shipyards, by March at the latest, will be transferred to Panos Xenokostas and ONEX.
This was announced by the Minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, at a working lunch yesterday, Tuesday, October 11, at the Piraeus Maritime Club, referring to investments, while he added:
“Last year Greece registered a 28-year investment record, this is important because last year we were still in the heart of the pandemic, so in the midst of a pandemic we achieved a 28-year investment record. This year, if we assume that by the end of the year we have no investment and just stick to what we have achieved so far, we are already at an all-time investment record.”
Opening on Monday in Elliniko
In more detail regarding the changes that have been made and our country has become an investment destination, the minister noted:
“Greece is truly a different country today, not only at the level of governance, but a substantial change has also occurred in the essence of Greek society. And I always bring as an example the investment in Elliniko.
Monday is the official opening of the project, which is going very well, ahead of schedule, all the properties in the first phase have been sold and there are no backlogs».
Reopening of the Elefsina and Skaramanga Shipyards in 2023
Another typical example he mentioned is the shipyards. As he said, “as for Syros, the shipyard there is working fine. As for Skaramangas, I believe that his transfer to Giorgos Prokopiou will be done by the end of the year… As for Elefsina, we delivered to the banks the plan for the application to the court. This was not easy, it took a month of work to do. Our goal is to file in court by October 31st. If we succeed – which we will succeed – and submit on October 31st, next week a DFC team will be in Athens to see the shipyards up close for the fifth time. We got approval from the DFC Legal Committee for the 102 million last week, so the plan is progressing normally.
I believe that the Elefsina Shipyards will be transferred to Panos Xenokostas and ONEX by March at the latest. So, from March onwards, the process of reopening the Elefsinos Shipyards will be able to begin and in 2023 it will be in full operation.”
