On the eve of the official deadline, the Ministry of Citizenship extended the deadline for families registered in CadÚnico (Cadastro Único) to update their data by another 30 days. After the deadline, those who were summoned and do not attend the registration review may have benefits, such as Auxílio Brasil, blocked.
More than 1.4 million families enrolled in the Single Registry were summoned, with registries last reviewed in 2016 or 2017. Of these, 757,000 are beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil, according to the government. Families who last updated data in 2018 or 2019 will be convened in the coming years.
Until the beginning of October, the last data reported by the federal government, about 263 thousand families had outdated data from CadÚnico, running the risk of not receiving the November installment of the aid.
It is possible to update the data registered in CadÚnico via the internet, without having to queue at the municipal service centers of the social program.
Through the Cadastro Único application, the family responsible can consult their registration status. Android download is available from Google Play. For iOS devices, go to the Apple Store. If you prefer, you can access the website cadunico.cidadania.gov.br.

If there is at least one data to be modified, it is necessary for the Responsible Family member to attend a service center of the Cadastro Único to update the family register. Check addresses here.
In addition, if the family record has any pending issues, such as, for example, if there is no Family Responsible or is included in the Cadastral Survey, it will not be possible to update via the application. In this case, the family must go to the Cadastro Único service post.
It is necessary to be attentive to all the information provided. Failure to declare information to or declare incorrect information can exclude the CadÚnico family and be considered a crime.
Documents required for the update
The Responsible for the Family Unit (RF) must take his CPF or voter registration card and also, at least, one document for each person in the family, among the following:
- Birth certificate
- Wedding certificate
- CPF
- ID
- work card
- voter registration
- Administrative Registration of Indigenous Birth (Rani), if the person is indigenous
Why is a cadastral review taking place?
Data review is done every year by the federal government to prevent fraud. Families with outdated information are summoned by the benefit payment statement or the electricity bill to correct the situation. According to the program rules, the data must be updated every two years.
The update is also mandatory whenever the beneficiary changes address or telephone number, has any change in their monthly income or marital status, there is a birth, adoption or death of a family member.
If the family does not update the data for more than four years, its record may be excluded from the registry.
CadÚnico is the main instrument in the country to identify and characterize low-income families since 2003. Being registered in the registry is mandatory to apply for social benefits such as Social Electricity Tariff, Gas Aid, Minha Casa Minha Vida/Minha Casa Program Verde Amarela, Auxílio Brasil, among others at federal, state and municipal levels.
Until December of this year, all families regularly registered in the Cadastro Único that meet the eligibility criteria for Auxílio Brasil receive at least R$600 per month. This month, more than 21.13 million families received the aid. Of this total, 81.5% are headed by women.
