The São Paulo Finance and Planning Department releases, this Monday (17), R$ 35.1 million in new credits through the Nota Fiscal Paulista program. The amount refers to purchases and donations of tax coupons made in June this year.

Registered consumers can check if they have credits for redemption by accessing the website portal.fazenda.sp.gov.br/servicos/nfp or the Nota Fiscal Paulista application.

In addition to the release, about R$ 13.5 million in credits expire in October 2022, belonging to 11.5 million users, according to the Secretary of Finance. There are several expiration dates during the month, but the largest volume expires on October 18th, so consumers have until this Monday (17th) to make the transfer.

The credits of the Nota Fiscal Paulista can be transferred by consumers for up to one year, counting from the release. This month the values released in October of last year expire. Unredeemed amounts return to the State Treasury.

How to use credits to deduct the IPVA 2023

Only in this month it is possible to use the credits to deduct the total or partial amount of the IPVA (Tax on the Property of Motor Vehicles) for 2023. The deadline for making the request ends on October 31st.

To use IPVA credits, the vehicle must be in the name of the user registered in the Nota Fiscal Paulista. It is also necessary to inform the Renavam number. Credits can only be used to reduce the value of the IPVA, not the licensing fees and fines, if any.

As of this year, if the consumer transfers an amount above the amount necessary to pay the IPVA, the difference will be refunded to his Nota Fiscal Paulista account. However, if the car is sold after the credit transfer is made, there will be no refund.
