Giorgos Xirogiannis is the new Director General of SEB

He succeeds Alexandros Hatzopoulos, who after four fruitful years of contribution to the BSE service, leaves the organization.

As of November 1, 2022, Dr. Giorgos Xirogiannis, until today Deputy General Director of the Association.

Mr. Xirogiannis succeeds Alexandros Hatzopoulos in the general management, who after four fruitful years of contribution to the BSE service, is leaving the organization to continue his career in business.

The President of the Executive Committee of SEB, Mr. Efthimios Vidalis, said: “I am happy to welcome Giorgos Xirogiannis to the position of CEO of SEB. George is an executive with leadership ability, significant experiences and modern perception in the management of critical issues that concern Greek industry and entrepreneurship. Together with George and all the executives of SEB, we will continue the effort of constantly upgrading the business environment and facilitating the action of Greek businesses for the benefit of the development of our economy and Greek society.

To Alexandros, who contributed decisively to the successful course of our Association, in the last four years, on behalf of SEV, I express our warm thanks and wish him strength and success in his next professional steps.”

Dr. Giorgos Xirogiannis is a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from Bristol University, UK and a graduate mathematician from University of Ioannina.

In the past he was a Senior Manager at PwC, where he managed important Strategy & Operations projects in Greece and abroad. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Piraeus and the University of the Aegean. He has an important written and scientific work on cutting-edge technologies and modern entrepreneurship.
