More than 60% of the people interviewed in a survey carried out by Instituto Locomotiva with Banco24Horas use physical money for their payments. The concentration is higher among classes D and E, where unbanking is greater.
Among the motivations for using only paper money, 20% of respondents say they frequent establishments that only accept physical money. Another 16% are guided by custom and 15% say they want discounts.
Security (11%) and cost control (9%) were also mentioned.
The survey also points out that 86% of respondents use an ATM, with 53% using the equipment once a month and 42% making daily withdrawal operations.
