Lula does live with Janones and says that often ‘the most humble believe in anything’

Former President Lula (PT) participated this Friday (21) in a broadcast on social networks with federal deputy André Janones (Avante-MG) and once again complained about the spread of lies against him during the election campaign.

Janones said in the live that the PT did not believe in the power of spreading fake news during the election and said that he has acted with “an army” to counter rumors spread by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

“He [Lula] thought: ‘It is not possible that someone will believe in such stupidity, that I am going to close the church. So I don’t need to deny it, because this is so absurd,'” Janones said.

Lula then said: “Now I know the harm that the [Donald] Trump did in the United States and what Bolsonaro and his sons are doing here in Brazil. Because often the most humble people believe whatever is said. Anything. [Instalar] Unisex bathroom.”

The deputy, who gave up his candidacy for the presidency, is one of the leaders of the PT campaign on social media and promotes lives to defend it. He also affirmed that Lula acted well when he admitted, on Wednesday (19), that “it’s analogue” for not messing with digital media.

“He has to work, he has to take care of the people. It’s not like the other side that spends all day making memes on WhatsApp”, said the deputy.

In the broadcast, Janones, who is an evangelical, also praised Lula for not bringing the topic of religion into electoral discussions. The subject is one of the main themes of attacks by President Bolsonaro and his supporters.

The former president said he has been urging supporters a lot not to go to religious events during the campaign.

“I fought a lot with the PT. The PT people wanted me to go I don’t know where. I said: I’m not going. I’m not going to use religion in my campaign. My faith in God is my own thing. I don’t go to church to say that I’m pleasing a priest, I’m pleasing a pastor. I won’t,” Lula said.

The broadcast lasted about 30 minutes and had the economy and social programs as the main themes. Janones, leading the conversation, asked Lula to reinforce campaign promises, such as keeping Auxílio Brasil at R$600 and resuming the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program.

“If you need to criticize Lula tomorrow, we will criticize him”, said the deputy.

The PT said that he plans to pay, in addition to the aid, R$ 150 per child under the age of six, similar to what existed in the old Bolsa Família. He also spoke of raising the minimum wage as the economy grows. “If it grew 10%, the salary will grow 10%.”

On Thursday (20), a report by the Sheet showed that the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, evaluates in a plan the possibility of setting the minimum wage and pensions without correction for past inflation, if Bolsonaro is reelected.

Lula said that it is irresponsible for Guedes to consider this alternative and said that the law that does not allow the reduction of pensions is from his period of government.

“They think that retirees, pensioners, people who receive the BPC [Benefício de Prestação Continuada] they are a burden, they are a burden on the country’s back. Is not true.”

The two returned to make an appeal for voters to attend the polls on the 30th. The former president makes a tour of Minas Gerais and made a campaign agenda this Friday in Juiz de Fora.
