Elon Musk vows not to turn Twitter into a ‘free-for-all hell’

Elon Musk has said he doesn’t want Twitter to become a “free-for-all hell”, appearing to backtrack on comments he previously made about increasing free speech on the social networking platform ahead of his deal closing on Friday. ).

“Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hell where anything can be said without consequences!” he wrote in a Twitter post this morning (27), titled ‘Dear Twitter Advertisers’.

Musk, a self-described “free speech absolutist,” has repeatedly said that his takeover of the company stems from a desire to restore free speech on Twitter, but the term was conspicuously absent in his statement to advertisers.

“In addition to complying with the laws of the country, our platform must be warm and welcoming for everyone, where you can choose the experience you want according to your preferences, as well as you can choose, for example, to watch movies or play video games that range from children’s to adults,” he wrote.

The post comes just a day before the closing of its $44 billion deal to buy Twitter under the deadline imposed by a Delaware court.

Musk now has to convince advertisers to work with the company, after publicly accusing it of lying about fake accounts and raising questions about its cybersecurity as he tried to evade the deal he made to acquire the business.
