The Internal Affairs Office of the Federal Police investigates the alleged refusal of police officers to carry out investigations that would result in the arrest of Bolsonarista businessmen involved in the promotion of the “picanha myth” at R$ 22 and in the advertisement in the newspaper of a truck at R$ 222,222.22 – in reference to to the number of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the polls.
According to the Goiás Regional Electoral Prosecutor’s Office, they are suspected of carrying out electoral crimes, such as irregular advertising, exiting the polls and enticing voters.
The Federal Police Superintendence informed the Sheet who received a request from the State Public Ministry to investigate the absences and carried out steps that will guide the police investigations, but did not take a position on the accusations against the police.
“Once the investigation is ongoing, as per the policy of the General Coordination of Social Communication of the PF, at this time, we are unable to provide details and/or details about the aforementioned files”, the superintendent said in a note.
According to the Prosecutor’s document sent to the PF last Tuesday (25), the first case took place on October 2, the date of the first round of elections.
The agency identified suspicions of electoral crimes allegedly carried out by FrigorÃfico Goiás, which on that day sold noble meat, called “picanha myth”, at R$ 22.
The promotion was carried out in the cities of Goiânia and Aparecida de Goiânia, in the metropolitan region. On the same day, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, prosecutors asked the PF to act on suspicion of an electoral crime, such as exiting the poll, which is considered illegal.
The first time, according to the MPE, the PF team reported that no irregularity had been identified in the action.
However, the prosecutors found that the promotion continued to be carried out irregularly and, for the second time, called the PF to carry out the arrest in flagrante delicto of the businessmen responsible for the meatpacking plant.
Soon after, a PF team would have gone to the Goiás Regional Electoral Prosecutor to try to make the prosecutors give up the arrests in the act.
According to the document, the group consisted of “four or five” police officers. Their names were not released. Therefore, the report was unable to identify his lawyers.
One of the federal police officers allegedly tried to dissuade the other federal police officers and members of the Public Ministry from taking action against the businessmen.
“In an emotional, outrageous and insistent way, he raised several arguments foreign to the criminal law (such as: diligence would generate unemployment, ‘because the company would close’; the meatpacker was in the free exercise of commercial activity; there was politicization of MPE attorneys etc. .) not to carry out the diligence, including the arrest of those involved in flagrante delicto”, says the document.
Afterwards, the prosecutors insisted on the need for the PF team to go to the company, but it was already 3 pm, and the promotional action was over, which, according to the Public Ministry, prevented the act from taking place.
Last Saturday (22), the prosecutor asked the Federal Police of Goiás to open an investigation to investigate electoral crimes in an advertising action by car dealerships Navesa and Ciaasa, which on that day announced Ranger vehicles for the value of R$ 222,222.22 .
Even so, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, the PF reported that it did not verify the promotion’s placement.
Soon after, the prosecutors sent a team of their own to carry out an investigation at the dealership to confirm that the police officers’ version was true.
“Again, we were surprised by photographs of the aforementioned company’s headquarters in Goiânia, where several Ranger pickup trucks ostensibly presented the purchase offer value of the order of ‘R$ 222,222.22’. And, again, there was no news of the realization of the arrest in the act of those responsible”, recorded an excerpt from the letter sent to the internal affairs department.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the case of FrigorÃfico Goiás is more serious because it took place on election day, which could constitute exit point propaganda, among other illegalities.
According to the agency, concessionaires could be denounced for the crime that prohibits the use of commercial establishments for advertising and enticing voters.
The report called FrigorÃfico Goiás and the car dealerships, but did not get a response until the report was published.
