Elon Musk talks about letting you choose different versions of Twitter

Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, said on Saturday (29) that platform users will be able to choose a version they like of the social network through ratings in tweets.

On the social network, Musk said that “selecting which version of Twitter you want is probably better, as it would be for a movie rating.” “The tweet rating itself can be self-selected and then modified by user feedback,” he said.

Musk tweeted on Friday that Twitter will form a content moderation board “with widely differing viewpoints.” No major content decisions or account reinstatements will take place before the board is convened, he added.

Musk struck a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter on Thursday. Twitter Chief Executive Parag Agrawal and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal have reportedly been fired while Musk takes over, people familiar with the business say. The billionaire also reportedly fired Vijaya Gadd, the network’s head of legal, policy and security, and general counsel Sean Edgett.

According to Reuters, the executives were at the social network’s headquarters when the deal was closed and were escorted out. “The bird is free,” Musk tweeted.

Musk has promised to cut Twitter’s jobs and costs, while ramping up product innovation in an attempt to build a “super app” that incorporates payments, commerce and messaging.
