Panel SA: Amoêdo reacts in court after suspension of Novo for his vote for Lula

by

João Amoêdo, founder of the Novo party, who declared his vote for Lula in the 2nd round, presented a crime report to the Electoral General Prosecutor’s Office against a group of party members.

The reaction is yet another chapter of the crisis that unfolded in Novo because the party’s presidency and some members did not accept when Amoêdo declared his vote for Lula publicly about 15 days ago. He was the subject of a request for disaffiliation filed by the group and had his membership suspended on Thursday (27) at the party’s electoral ethics commission.

In the crime news, Amoêdo cites commission members Rodrigo Sanches, Rafael Boskovic, Charbel Maroun and Alexandre Souza, in addition to deputies Gilson Marques and Marcel Van Hattem, and Eduardo Ribeiro, president of the Novo national directory.

According to Amoêdo, in the reaction of party members, there was an attempt to prevent other members from publicly expressing their votes, as he had done.

The founder of the acronym says that the decision of the ethics commission to desaffiliate him was made public through a general report sent to all affiliates by email, in wide publicity, which would have the electoral purpose of preventing other affiliates from also declaring a vote. publicly, he said.

“By doing this, my motivation is that other affiliates who wish to declare their vote have their right, as a citizen, preserved. And that they do not have this type of embarrassment. This year, we have also seen this electoral harassment in companies. crime that is being committed”, says Amoêdo.

He says he has heard from people from Novo that they would like to declare their vote, but chose not to do so for fear of suffering sanctions.

Sought by the SA Panel, the party says it “has not been notified of any possible crime news and, therefore, has nothing to say on the matter”.
