Panel SA: Despite tension with Zambelli set up in a bar, restaurants report similar billing to the 1st shift

by

Despite the tension caused by the entry of deputy Carla Zambelli (PL) with her gun into a bar in São Paulo, on Saturday (29), the bar and restaurant sector says that the movement of customers on Sunday (30) was similar to the flow of the 1st shift. There was some fear that the alert climate would scare away the most cautious consumer, but the assessment is that the result was satisfactory.

According to Paulo Solmucci, president of Abrasel (an association that represents the sector), some restaurant owners in Recife decided to close early to avoid confusion.

Until 5 pm this Sunday, when voting time ended, establishments reported to the entity a peaceful atmosphere between voters of the two presidential candidates.

“This could even be a warning that things are tense for any position today. Maybe people even omit themselves. Barely comparing, I think of 7 to 1. When Brazil lost, the Germans didn’t provoke. I think whoever wins will be very careful not to gloat”, says Solmucci.

He says he has a feeling people will be more restrained or looking to avoid trouble in this election, because they’ve already paid a hefty bill for lost friendships and family divisions in recent years.
