The General Superintendence of the antitrust body Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) recommended the approval, without restrictions, of the purchase of the insurance company SulAmérica by the health group Rede D’Or, according to an order published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (8). ).
Interested third parties or advisors to the agency’s court have 15 days for possible manifestations, the companies said in statements. If not, the decision becomes final.
Itaú BBA analysts led by Vinicius Figueiredo wrote in a report that, although the decision “was widely expected by the market”, it came sooner than they had anticipated.
The BBA team noted, however, that the ANS (National Supplementary Health Agency) approval for the deal is still lacking, and the autarchy may eventually impose restrictions on the current share of Rede D’Or in Qualicorp.
The acquisition of SulAmérica, announced in February, was endorsed by Susep (Superintendence of Private Insurance).
