A survey by AWS (Amazon Web Services) showed that professionals with advanced digital skills earn up to R$32,000 (US$6,000) more per year than workers with basic proficiency. These hot tools on the market include cloud architecture, software development and machine learning, for example.
But despite the favorable scenario, Brazil struggles in the training of these professionals and data from Brasscom (Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies) illustrate the difficult scenario.
By 2025, 797 thousand jobs will be opened in the sector, but more than 532 thousand vacancies will be inactive.
In the AWS survey, at least 76% of Brazilian recruiters say that hiring these professionals is “challenging” and 51% point to a shortage of qualified candidates.
With the digitization process accelerated in the last two years, information technology has become the center of attention of companies and Brazil tends to benefit from the movement. AWS claims that advanced skills add economic value to companies and add at least US$63 billion to Brazilian GDP.
In the world the impact reaches US$ 6.3 trillion.
The AWS survey, which was also supported by Gallup in interviews, surveyed more than 30,000 people in 19 countries. In Brazil, 1,755 workers and 336 employers participated.
