Caixa will cancel undue discount on the Auxílio Brasil loan

by

Amid complaints about undue or anticipated discounts on the Auxílio Brasil payroll loan, Caixa Econômica Federal started to send messages, through Caixa Tem, to inform that the first installment will already be debited in November, and not in December, as stated in contracts.

The failure in the information provided by Caixa confused the beneficiaries, as the date December 7 appears in the “first installment” field.

Beneficiaries will receive the following notice on their cell phone: “Your loan installment is automatically debited from the first benefit to be received after contracting. The date of 12/07 that appears on the contract statement is the deadline for Caixa to receive the value of the Ministry of Citizenship.”

According to the bank reported this Thursday (10), the messages sent to beneficiaries aim to clarify the contractual rules on the payment of installments.

As for people who did not apply for the loan, but have the discounts programmed in the benefit statement, Caixa informs that “the necessary correction will be provided”, if the credit has been taken through the state bank.

Regarding the beginning of the debts, the Ministry of Citizenship informed this Wednesday (9) that, in the payroll of the aid for November, loans contracted between October 10 and November 1 will be discounted and that all beneficiaries who have a discount will be notified by message in the statement.

See what to do if you don’t recognize the payroll loan

According to Caixa, the beneficiary who does not recognize the contracting of a payroll loan, with a portion unduly debited for his benefit, must, first, call the service channel of the Ministry of Citizenship, through the number 121.

It is necessary to inform the registration data at the service, such as CPF or benefit number, to verify the financial institution where the contract was made and request reimbursement. The reason is that, in addition to Caixa, there are more than a dozen financial institutions authorized to offer credit.

In the case of Caixa customers who identify a supposedly incorrect discount on the benefit, the orientation is to go to a bank branch with CPF and photo identification so that the amount can be returned.

The state bank also says that more information can be consulted on the Consignado Auxílio page. There is also a video to clarify the main doubts on their Youtube channel.

Credit has been a matter of questioning

The beginning of the release of the Auxílio Brasil consignment was marked by complaints about canceled credit, delay in releasing the money, charging an extra fee and overloading Caixa’s systems. The credit line has already been suspended by the bank twice (the release of new loans is blocked until November 14).

On the eve of the election, the TCU (Union Court of Auditors) also recommended that the loan be suspended. After an overload in the system due to the explosion of accesses, orders were canceled or were in processing.

The bank estimated that there were around 200,000 people with contracts under review or pending as of October 21 and who would need to apply again. Paola de Carvalho, from the Brazilian Basic Income Network, says she is concerned about the number of families reporting that they did not receive the loan money, but that they have the discount provided for in their statements.
