New drop in electricity charges in December

by

As reported by DEPA, the de-escalation exceeds 10% compared to the previous month, with the main winners being consumers who see the cost of energy decreasing

“Consumers will see a new drop in electricity charges after the prices announced by the providers for December, which are at the lowest levels since August and the implementation of the new pricing system, without an adjustment clause”, reports DEPA Emporias.

As indicated, de-escalation exceeds 10% compared to the previous month, with the main winners being the consumers who see the cost of energy falling even further, but also the state budget which will need to pay less subsidies, saving forces to support society in more difficult times.

The subsidiary of DEPA Emporia, Natural Gas Hellenic Energy Company is also this month among the providers with the most competitive energy prices on the market. In particular, the company in December announced a kilowatt-hour price of 31.8 cents, reduced by 14% compared to the previous month. With the consistency discount, in fact, the price drops below 30 cents, to 29.8 cents per KWh, for the first time since August when the new pricing system was announced by the government.

Increased customer base with the highest percentage of consistent customers

In the last five months, Natural Gas has been consistently among the lowest-priced companies, which has allowed it to grow its customer base by thousands at a time when the main trend in the market is to return to the main provider. In addition, Natural Gas has the highest percentage of consistent customers which is obviously not unrelated to the low prices it consistently secures.

The announcement also states the following:

“Undoubtedly, the positive image of Natural Gas is also due to the fact that it belongs to DEPA Emporias, one of the most powerful energy groups in the country, which throughout the unprecedented energy crisis has resolutely supported consumers by absorbing a large part of the price increases in international energy prices, with discounts exceeding 155 million euros.

At the same time, DEPA Emporias is dynamically entering renewable energy, developing 1 GW of projects, as a result of which it will soon be able to supply its subsidiary in the retail market, Natural Gas, with even cheaper and “green” energy”.
