The biggest benefit will be the Greek State, which is the largest shareholder with a percentage of 34%
Forecast for dividend distribution in 2024 from the 2023 fiscal year that will be profitable expressed by president and CEO of PPC S.A. Mr. Georgios Stassis during yesterday’s stock market analysts’ briefing on the group’s nine-month results.
In this case the biggest benefit will be the Greek State, which is the largest shareholder of the business through the Greek Holdings and Property Company, with a percentage of 34 %.
In his statements on the occasion of the announcement of the results, Mr. Stassis underlined the durability of PPC’s operational profitability, which remains, as he underlined, within the goals that have been set despite the unprecedented energy crisis and prevailing uncertainty.
“For the full year, we confirm our target of maintaining recurring operating profitability in 2022 at 2021 levels.
“Despite the unfavorable external environment and the regulatory measures that have been taken due to the energy crisis, PPC’s position and prospects remain strong as they were a year ago when we presented our updated Strategic Plan in the context of the share capital increase”, he emphasized.
The head of PPC reiterated yesterday that the company continues to explore expansion opportunities in Southeast European markets based on the Strategic Plan.
It is recalled that recently due to reports on the acquisition agreement of ENEL Romania, PPC announced that it is examining selected possible cases of acquisitions in Romania and Bulgaria, but there is currently no agreement or the signing of a relevant memorandum of understanding.
ENEL announced yesterday that it is proceeding with divestment from Romania (but also Argentina and Peru) in order to limit its debt which increased this year due to the energy crisis and the measures of the Italian government to contain prices.
While briefing the analysts, Mr. Stassis also mentioned that the trial operation of the new 660 megawatt lignite unit in Ptolemaida is expected soon, while the commercial operation is set for the first quarter of 2023.
Moreover, by the end of 2022, the construction of two flagship photovoltaic parks of PPC in Ptolemaida and Megalopolis, with a capacity of 200 and 50 megawatts respectively, will be completed, doubling the company’s RES potential.
