The official preliminary templates for the objective test of the INSS (National Social Security Institute) contest are scheduled to be released this Tuesday (29), starting at 7 pm, on the contest organizer’s website. Candidates will have until 6 pm on Friday (2) to submit an appeal.

Each correct answer will add one point to the candidate, while each wrong answer will deduct one point. Candidates who have less than ten points in the basic knowledge test, less than 21 points in the specific knowledge test or less than 36 total points will be eliminated.

The final answers after the appeals, as well as the final result of the objective tests, will be released on December 22nd.

On that date there will also be a call for the biopsychosocial assessment and for the hetero-identification procedure. These procedures are responsible for attesting eligibility for vacancies intended, respectively, for people with disabilities and black people.

The creation of racial hetero-identification stands tends to generate controversy for questioning self-declaration. Since 2017, however, the STF (Federal Supreme Court) considers the use of these stalls to be constitutional to prevent fraud in public tenders. The general ranking list should only be released after these evaluations, on a date yet to be defined.

More than one million people have applied and are running for one thousand vacancies for social security technicians, whose salary is R$ 5,905.79.

The first stage of the selection process took place last Sunday (27) and was marked by confusion and delays. In Guarulhos (Greater São Paulo), after waiting more than 2 hours, the tests were cancelled. Candidates running for the executive management of the INSS in this city will have to take the exam on another date, as informed in a note by the organizing committee.

It is not the first problem that Cebraspe has encountered in organizing the competition. The registration period had to be extended due to instability on the website and there was a delay in disclosing the test locations.

On the internet, candidates complained about crowded rooms, lack of supervision and the level of difficulty of specific knowledge questions. The test lasted 3 hours and 30 minutes and had 120 questions, 50 of which were basic knowledge and 70 were specific knowledge.

For Fernanda Helene, a lawyer specializing in social security law and professor at AlfaCon, the first stage of the selection process was faithful to the announcement and had about 20% of questions of a high level of complexity.

For the first time, the contest will have a second selection stage, consisting of a training course, which must be taken by all candidates classified in the objective test. This step is eliminatory and qualifying.

For the lawyer, the change is positive. “This qualification stage prepares the new civil servants for their daily attributions at the INSS, mainly in the analysis of processes and customer service”.

The course will have a workload of 180 classroom hours and will take place full-time. Enrolled candidates will receive financial aid equivalent to half the initial salary of the position.

The final grade in the competition will be made up of the sum of the scores from the two phases of the competition.

The call for this stage and the disclosure of the start date and place of the course will be made in a specific public notice.
