Government pays Vale-gás of R$ 112 in December; see calendar

The Ministry of Citizenship informed this Friday (9) that the gas voucher paid in December will be R$ 112, the same amount paid in October, when the beneficiaries received it for the last time. The bimonthly benefit is deposited together with the Auxílio Brasil and starts to be paid next Monday (12).

According to the ministry, 5.95 million families will benefit from this benefit this month, which is equivalent to an investment of R$ 667.2 million. The number of benefited families has decreased since October, when it reached 5.98 million families.

Calendar for Brazil Aid and Vale-gás for December

Vale-gás has been paid since December 2021, when the value was R$ 51. The benefit is defined according to the average price of the 13 kg cylinder in the previous six months. The survey is carried out by the ANP (National Agency for Gas, Petroleum and Biofuels).

Who can receive?

Families enrolled in CadÚnico (the federal government’s Single Registry) with a per capita family income of less than or equal to half the minimum wage (R$606 this year) can receive the Gas Voucher. The amount received by the Brazil Aid is not considered in the calculation.

The program also includes families that have beneficiaries of the BPC (Continued Provision Benefit) in their composition. Women heads of families have priority to receive the benefit, as well as women victims of violence.

How to receive?

The amount can be withdrawn, with the Citizen’s Card, at the Caixa Econômica Federal branch or at lottery outlets. The benefit can also be transferred through the Caixa Tem application.
