Governor Rodrigo Garcia authorized the payment of the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) levied on December sales in the retail sector in two installments by taxpayers in the state of São Paulo.
The decree will be published this Saturday (17) in the Official State Gazette.
According to the measure, shopkeepers will be able to pay 50% of the tax on Christmas sales until January 20 and the second installment of 50% until February 20, 2023, without penalty and interest.
The payment of ICMS in installments for taxpayers represents an increase in cash flow for retailers at the beginning of the year, a period of seasonal decline in activity in the sector.
